3D Modeling/Printing Projects

This page contains samples of my projects as a self-taught maker.

My Timeline as a 3D Printing Enthusiast

I've been using Blender for 3D modeling since 2016.

In early 2019 I bought an Ender 3 FDM printer to work on personal and academic projects, and quickly fell in love with additive manufacturing. That's when I started to experiment with CAD software as well.

Between Aug 2019 and Jan 2020 I was living in Sweden as an exchange student and therefore didn't have access to my 3D printer, however, my roommate had just got an Ender 3, so I helped him get started on his projects. Once I returned, I focused on more complex projects, mainly using Blender to 3D model and sculpt video game characters and props for cosplays.

For the duration of my Master's Degree at Rice university (Aug 2021 - Nov 2022) I decided to use a smaller/cheaper printer. Since the quality of this printer is relatively low, I focused on experiments such as testing flexible TPU filament. I also started helping a friend who bought an SLA printer.
During summer '22 I obtained a certificate in additive manufacturing (among others) from Solidworks.

In Nov 2022 I bought an ELEGOO Saturn MSLA 4K Resin 3D Printer, and I've been using it for my new projects.
I've also started a new YouTube channel focused on 3D modeling/printing: youtube.com/@medjedmakes

I am using it as a way to share my workflow an knowledge with the community, and inspire more people to get into 3D printing.

In Mar 2023 I started working as an applications engineer at Xact Metal - A great opportunity to turn my hobby into a career and obtain practical experience in metal additive manufacturing.

I continued to make figures and cosplay props throughout 2023 and 2024. Always working towards improving my skills and trying out new techniques. In Mar 2024 I bought an Elegoo Neptune 4 Max FDM printer in order to make larger props.
